March 21st ~ This Day in History video by History.com ~ 1871: Journalist Henry Morton Stanley began his famous search through Africa for the missing British explorer Dr. David Livingstone on the 21st March 1871. In the late 19th century, Europeans and Americans were deeply fascinated by the mysterious “Dark Continent” of Africa. Livingstone was one of England’s most intrepid explorers that increased Africa’s fame.
