0326 ~ Helena of Constantinople discovered the True Cross and Jesus’s tomb (Holy Sepulchre) in Jerusalem.

1741 ~ George Frideric Handel completed his oratorio Messiah

1814 ~ The Defence of Fort McHenry poem was written by Francis Scott Key, and later used as the lyrics for The Star-Spangled Banner.
