The Junior MasterChef TV cooking competition series originated in the United Kingdom, and was first broadcast by the BBC in 1994, until 1999. The show was a spin-off from the original MasterChef, which began in the UK in 1990. The junior series grew in popularity around the World, and has now been produced in 28 countries.

The MasterChef 2023 season televised starting date on the 1st may 2023 has been delayed, due to the unexpected death of MasterChef judge Jock Zonfrillo. Jock passed away on the 30th April 2023, aged 46. R.i.P.
On Tuesday the 12th July in 2022, Billie McKay won the Grand Final of MasterChef Fans & Faves, beating Sarah Todd, to become the first person to ever win MasterChef twice. Billie Mckay first won in 2015.
Billie McKay aged 31 was raised on a dairy farm in Bowraville, New South Wales, Australia. She was born on the 11th July in 1991, and went to Macksville High School, later becoming a restaurant manager in her hometown.
In 2015 Billie McKay won $250,000 prize money, plus an Alfa Romeo Giulietta, and also a monthly column in Delicious, the Australian food magazine. Later she was offered a job by Heston Blumenthal, at The Fat Duck restaurant, which she accepted.

12 of MasterChef’s favourite contestants return to the famous kitchen, to cook and compete against 12 new contestants.
Julie Goodwin (season 1 winner in 2009), Billie McKay (2015 winner), Sashi Cheliah (2018 winner), Alvin Quah (previous contestant), Sarah Todd (2014 contestant), Michael Weldon (season 3 contestant), Montana (TikTok influencer), Jenn (Queensland dentist), Daniel (Northern Territory fireman), and more contestants to be announced soon.
The 2022 judges will be Melissa Leong, Jock Zonfrillo and Andy Allen.
Series 2 of Celebrity Masterchef Australia returned after 12 years, since series 1 debuted in 2009. The judges of series 2 are Melissa Leong, Jock Zonfrillo and Andy Allen. Feeling more at home in a cosy lounge setting, today the celebrities are challenged to cook their favourite ‘comfort food’ dish. The winner will be granted immunity from the first elimination cook.

It’s the first elimination! The celebrities can cook sweet or savoury, but either way their dish needs to be delicious. There are 60 minutes on the clock and an open pantry with the garden in play.

Today’s challenge is a mystery box with a twist! Time is like gold in the MasterChef kitchen, and with immunity up for grabs for today’s winner the risk might be worth the reward.

It is the second elimination for our celebrity cooks, and the judges announce that they’ll be competing in a two-round challenge, with round one being the famous MasterChef team relay!

The Celebrities are split into four teams of two, each team must cook a dish and serve it to 20 diners plus the judges in their very first service challenge at Starward distillery in Port Melbourne!

Tonight’s elimination challenge is a two rounder, starting off with a classic MasterChef taste test. The ingredients from the round one taste test make up the pantry for round two!

Heston Blumenthal explains to the remaining celebrities how nostalgia is so important to the way he cooks, and challenges them to cook a dish that takes them back to their childhood.

Two most important things in MasterChef kitchen are time and ingredients. The celebrities have four pantries to choose from. One pantry is revealed every 10 minutes in tonight’s elimination challenge.

The judges reveal that today the celebrities are going to have to keep up with Jock and replicate his dish as well as they can without a recipe or dish to reference.

The celebrities have 2.5 hours to prepare 12 dishes and 30 minutes to serve. This is an elimination, so whoever serves the least impressive course will be knocked out of the competition.

In this challenge, the judges have decided to be generous and throw out the rules. They want to see a dish that is the culmination of everything the celebrities have learnt so far.

It’s the grand finale episode, down to 3 celebrity contestants playing for the title, trophy and, most importantly, $100,000 for their charity. The dish that will seal their fate is set by culinary legend, Martin Benn.

Nick Riewoldt, the former AFL football player won the title of Celebrity MasterChef Australia 2021, along with a trophy, and $100,000 for his chosen charity. Nick chose Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision as his nominated charity, which was named after his late sister Maddie, who died at the age of 26, in 2015, due to Aplastic Anemia, a rare disorder in which the bone marrow fails to produce enough blood cells. Justin Narayan was crowned MasterChef Australia champion for 2021 on Tuesday the 13th of July 2021
Justin won the MasterChef finale, by only one point ahead of frontrunner Pete Campbell, the 36 year old Tattoo Artist from NSW. In 3rd place was Kishwar Chowdhury the 38 year old Printing Business Owner from Victoria.
1st place winner Justin Narayan takes home a grand prize of $250,000
Justin is the 1st person from Western Australia to ever win MasterChef.
Justin gets his inspiration from his family of Fijian and Indian heritage, which he is the first generation to be born in Australia. His mum is among his biggest inspiration, and he says she is the best cook he knows. He is the eldest of 3 siblings, and very close to his Parti (grandmother) who recently passed, and Tata (grandfather), as they always watched cooking shows together, and he also loved cooking for them. Justin recently married his fiancée Esther.
Justin started cooking when he was 13 years old. In 2017 he travelled to India where he fell in love with the Indian culture, the history, people and the food, which he now has a strong understanding of the Indian flavours, which he gravitates towards savoury side over the sweet dishes.
Justin was a youth pastor, which he recently resigned from doing so he could chase his culinary dreams. He also put his Masters’ study on hold when he tried out for MasterChef. Justin would one day love to have a food truck or restaurant featuring the Indian flavours he grew up eating, which the profits could go to helping feed and educate children living in the slums of India.
