This month on average, is the warmest month in most of the Northern hemisphere (2nd month of summer) and the coldest month in most of the Southern hemisphere (2nd month of winter). The month of July was named by the Roman Senate in honor of the Roman general, Julius Caesar, born in this month. Prior to that, the month was called Quintilis.
