AUGUST 6th ~ This Day in History video by History.com ~  1945 : American bomber dropped atomic bomb on Hiroshima | & more about history on this day in the video… An American B-29 bomber, the Enola Gay, dropped the world’s first atom bomb, over the city of Hiroshima in Japan. Approximately 80,000 people were killed as a direct result of the blast, and 35,000 were injured. About another 60,000 people died by the end of the year from the effects of the fallout.
