1822 : Ulysses S. Grant the 18th President of the United States was born in Point Pleasant, Ohio (died in 1885 aged 63).

1882 : Ralph WALDO Emerson best known as Waldo the American essayist and philosopher died aged 78 (born in 1803). He was also a lecturer, poet and abolitionist, leader of the transcendentalist movement, and champion of individualism. Waldo inspired many great writers.

1944 : Cuba Gooding Sr. the American singer was born in New York City, USA (died in 2017 aged 72).
