February 25th ~ This Day in History video by History.com ~ 1964: Clay knocks out Liston: 22-year-old Cassius Clay (now known as Muhammad Ali) shocked the odds-makers by dethroning world heavyweight boxing champ Sonny Liston in a seventh-round technical knockout on the 25th February 1964. Liston, who had twice beaten former champ Floyd Patterson in one round, was an 8-to-1 favorite. Cassius Clay predicted victory, boasting that he would “float like a butterfly, sting like a bee” and knock out Liston in the 8th round.
