1900 : ANTOiNE de SAiNT- EXUPéRY the French writer and pioneering aviator was born Antoine Marie Jean-Baptiste Roger, comte de Saint-Exupéry in Lyon, France (died in 1944 aged 44). He is best known for his book The Little Prince (Le Petit Prince), and aviation writing of the books Wind, Sand and Stars, and Night Flight.
