1504 : Michelangelo’s David sculpture was unveiled in Florence, Italy. The Renaissance marble sculpture masterpiece, was created from 1501 to 1504, and stands at the height of 5.17 metres (17 feet) tall.
1551 : Vitória, in Brazil, was founded. Also known as Victória, it is the capital city of Espírito Santo, at state in Brazil. The population was 365,855, as of 2020.

1921 : Sir Harry Secombe (CBE) the Welsh comedian and actor, was born in St Thomas, Swansea, Wales (died in 2001 aged 79). He was best known from The Goon Show (1951 to 1960) with Spike Milligan and Peter Sellers.
1925 : Peter Sellers (CBE) the English actor and comedian, was born Richard Henry Sellers, in Portsmouth, England (died in 1980 aged 54). He first became known in The Goon Show with Spike Milligan and Harry Secombe.

1994 : USAir Flight 427 crashed, resulting in the deaths of all 132 people aboard, while approaching Pittsburgh International Airport, in clear weather. The crash was the most extensive aviation investigation in world history, which altered manufacturing practices in the industry.

2022 : Elizabeth II, the Queen of the United Kingdom died aged 96 (born in 1926). The Queen died in Scotland, at her Balmoral estate, after her reign of over 70 years.
2022 : Charles, the Prince of Wales became the King of the United Kingdom, upon the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II. Charles assumed the regnal name Charles III. William and Kate became the Prince and Princess of Wales.
