1641 : POCAHONTAS was married in Jamestown, Virginia, USA. Pocahontas was the daughter of the chief of the Powhatan Indian confederacy, married John Rolfe an English tobacco planter, which ensured peace between the Jamestown settlers and the Powhatan Indians for several years.
