1986 : The Chernobyl disaster occurred in the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic.
1989 : Daulatpur–Saturia tornado hit Central Bangladesh, killing over 1,300, injuring 12,000, and making 80,000 people homeless. It was the deadliest tornado in the history of Bangladesh.
1989 : Lucille Ball the American actress died aged 77 (born in 1911). Her death was caused by an abdominal aortic aneurysm.
1994 : China Airlines Flight 140 crashed at Nagoya Airport in Japan, and resulted in the death of 264 people on board, but 7 people survived.

2011 : Phoebe Snow the American musician died aged 60 (born in 1950). Her death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage in January 2010, when she slipped into a coma, with episodes of blood clots, pneumonia and congestive heart failure.
2018 : Bill Cosby the American comedian was found guilty of sexual assault.
2019 : Avengers: Endgame was released, and became Marvel Studios’ blockbuster film, after becoming the highest-grossing film of all time, which surpassed Avatar, the previous box office record holder.
