JULY 25th ~ This Day in History video by History.com ~ 1978 : The World’s first “test tube baby” born | & more about history on this day in the video… Louise Joy Brown, the world’s first baby to be conceived via in vitro fertilization (IVF) was born at Oldham & District General Hospital in Manchester, England, on the 25th July 1978, to parents Lesley and Peter Brown. The healthy test tube baby was delivered shortly before midnight by caesarean section and weighed 5 pounds, 12 ounces.
