1962 : The first prisoners escaped from the Alcatraz Island federal prison. The 3 inmates, Frank Morris, John Anglin and Clarence prepared papier-mâché heads to resemble themselves in their beds, then broke out of the main prison building, and departed in an improvised inflatable raft.
